Chelsea have agreed to sign goalkeeper Robert Sanchez for £25 million plus add-ons.
Sanchez lost his place to Jason Steele during the second part of the previous season, and will now provide competition for Kepa Arrizabalaga after Edouard Mendy’s departure to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.
Sanchez Had Worked With Chelsea's goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts Previously
At the age of 25, Spanish goalkeeper Sanchez, who is an international player for Spain, had previous experience working with Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts during his time at Brighton. Roberts joined Stamford Bridge’s coaching staff in September 2022.
With the arrival of new manager Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea is undergoing a major squad overhaul after enduring their worst Premier League season in nearly three decades.
